Biography

 

 

First Indian Chinese Artist to sing successfully in Mandarin for innumerable prestigious Chinese Festival since 2007. (New Year celebrations, Mid Autumn Fest, Elders Day Celebration, Chinni Adda, China-Kolkata International Book Fair 2013, Kolkata Christmas Carnival 2014 & 2015, Kolkata's First Dragon Boat Festival 2015, etc.

 

自2007年以来为无数著名的中国节日成功地用中文演唱的第一个印度中国艺术家 (新年，中秋节，重阳节，Chinni Adda, 中国 - 加尔各答国际图书博览会2013年, 加尔各答圣诞狂欢2014年, 015年, 加尔各答第一次“端午节晚会2015”等.

Year 2016 Thomas Chen 陳永康 featured on Zee Bangla's popular game show "No. 1 Didi Na Dada" on 17th April 2016.

              Thomas Chen impressed the host, crew and the audience with his Bengali speaking skills and famous classic Bengali song "যে জন প্রেমের ভাব জানে না". Surely, a multilingual person.

On popular demand, Thomas Chen not once, but twice featured on Zee Bangla's new game show, "Happy Parent's Day Show-2" on 17th June and 1st October 2016.

               Thomas Chen acted as a Chinese Chef, and surprised one and all by his Bengali speaking skills

Year 2016 seems to be lucky for Thomas Chen 陳永康 as he signs his first Big Budget Bollywood movie called "Tubelight", directed Mr. Kabir Khan, a renowned Indian film director.

              Thomas has a small part and plays one of the Chinese soldiers in the epic emotional drama speaking in Mandarin Chinese. The film is schedule to be released in the year 2017, and has one of the Biggest stars in Bollywood, Mr Salman Khan along with Mr. Sohail Khan and Chinese actress Miss Zhu Zhu.

Thomas Chen composed and performed a Chinese song at Zee Bangla, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, which was telecast on 5th December 2016.

This performance was an interlude to a Bengali song, based on Chinese folk by legendary Bengali singer/ composer Shri Hemango Biswas.

Thomas uses a verse from the legendary Chinese poem “但愿人长久” by 苏轼 to compose a minute intro based on Shri Hemango Biswas song.

Year 2014, Thomas Chen 陳永康 has performed with renowned musicians form Trees Music & Art , an independent music label (Taiwan) - Sir Wolfgang Obrecht (Germany) and Miss鍾玉鳳Chung Yufeng (Taiwan) and大竹研 Ken Ohtake (Japan) for a tour on the documentary film on Indian Chinese – “BORDER TO BORDER” in Kolkata.
